Distinguishing Spirits

1 Corinthian 12:10 - “to another miraculous power, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues”
The Gift of Discerning of Spirits is to know and understand what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing, what demonic spirits are involved, and the state of a person’s spirit.
Prayer of Surrender to the Holy Spirit - The fruit of the Spirit:
Using your senses to sense what God is doing. Understanding how to redeem your feelings, God uses our feelings to help guide us when they are submitted to him.
Ask for the gift and you will receive it. 1 Corinthians 14:1 Pray to receive the gift of discernment or ask God for an increase.
Be a part of a church/ body!
Ask the Lord for discernment in each life situation.
Quiet yourself to listen.
Be quick to pray, prayer is action. Begin to pray.
Give yourself permission to be wrong
Four Spiritual Senses:
Taste, Hear, See, Smell.
The Spirit Realm: You understand the Spiritual realm, but correctly identifying God’s Presence.
Ephesians 6:12: “We wrestle not against Flesh and Blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Wrestle-Pala-Pale: to vibrate, another form
Flesh (sarx): the soft substance of the living body, the body of man, sensuous nature of man, animal nature and cravings, human nature
Principalities (g756): beginning or origin. This means the first, it can be the first in a series, origin, etc. refers to order and rank.
Power-Exousia-(power of choice, the liberty of doing as one pleases, physical and mental power, right and privilege, the power of rule or government, judicial decisions, a ruler or human magistrate, privilege
Rulers-Kosmokrator (g2888)-the lord of the world, prince of this age, human rulers, age
Heavenly (celestial, heaven)-existing in heaven, things that take place in heaven, heavenly regions
Discern-Aistheterion-Perception -Faculty of the mind for perceiving, understanding, judging, internal senses
Wickedness-Pomeria-depravity, inequity, wickedness, malice
